The Hellenic Integrated Marine Inland water Observing Forecasting and offshore Technology System is a large scale integrated infrastructure including the following two components:
Ocean observing and forecasting systems together with ocean engineering infrastructures
Hydrosystem information networks for inland water resources.
The above two different components are represented in HIMIOFoTs by two different partnerships with the Institute of Oceanography - HCMR and the School of Civil Engineering - NTUA being the relevant coordinators.

Work package 3: | Purchase of a high-performance multiprocessor computing system to install the weather forecasting component (Institute of Oceanography, HCMR). |
Work package 4: | Purchase of a new Ferrybox system (Institute of Oceanography, HCMR). |
Work package 5: | Upgrading the CO2 sensor at the existing Ferrybox line (Institute of Oceanography, HCMR). |
Work package 6: | Purchase of an inflatable boat for routine sampling (Institute of Oceanography, HCMR). |
Work package 7: | Purchase, installation and operation of two tide gauges (Institute of Oceanography, HCMR). |
Work package 8: | Purchase of six Argo floats (Institute of Oceanography, HCMR). |
Work package 9: | Purchase of a Glider (Institute of Oceanography, HCMR). |
Work package 10: | Maintenance, upgrade and evaluation of the DARDANOS system (Department of the Marine Science, University of the Aegean). |
Work package 11: | Purchase of the relevant equipment for the upgrade of the DARDANOS recording system (Department of the Marine Science, University of the Aegean). |
Work package 12: | Maintenance and upgrade of the POSEIDON’s weather forecasting system (Department of Geography, Harokopio University). |
Work package 13: | Coastal zone monitoring – Implementation and upgrade of the relevant methodologies, protocols and policy management (Department of Chemistry, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens). |
Work package 14: | Open Hydrosystem Information network, OpenHi.net (School of Civil Engineering, National Technical University of Athens). |
Work package 15: | Hydro-Telemetry surface waters networks: equipments, smart technologies, installation and operation (Institute for Environment Research and Sustainable Development, National Observatory of Athens). |
Work package 16: | Open Hydrosystem Information Network- Monitoring systems and evaluation of agrometeorological parameters (Department of Agriculture, University of Ioannina). |
