A group of Scientists of the Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Inland Waters (IMBRIW - HCMR) installed successfully three automatic, telemetric water monitoring stations in Pinios River, Thessaly, at the end of August 2019. The stations record physico-chemical parameters (pH, Electrical Conductivity, Dissolved Oxygen, Temperature) and water level and transmit their data via GPRS/GSM network to a remote HCMR server, providing timely and reliable measurements.
The three stations are integrated to the Water Monitoring Infrastructure Network implemented under the HIMIOFOTS project - Hellenic Integrated Marine – Inland water Observing, Forecasting and offshore Technology System, funded by the Operational Program ‘Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation’ 2014-2020 and coordinated by the Institute of Oceanography of HCMR.
IMBRIW participates in the Project component that develops the information infrastructure for the collection, management and dissemination of hydrological and environmental information related to the Greek surface water resources and under the name: ‘Open Hydrosystem Information Network’, https://openhi.net/).
