The HF radar is a shore-based radar covering a wide range of the sea surface and mainly monitoring surface waves and currents of the ocean providing in high spatiotemporal resolution data. In any case, HF radar is a low cost instrument not only by the maintenance but also by the operation.
The importance of the HF radar lies in the use of data from a wide range of users not only from the scientific community but also from the industry. More specifically, the use of data from HF radar can be made either by private companies or by local public sectors that contribute to the management and protection of the marine environment, as well as to the study of physical phenomena.
